I spent most of the day 3/21/22 on my birthday finishing up the editing on this video to share my experience plunging to unplug! Check out BEYOND THE STORY: Letting Go of Internalized Oppression/Plunging to Unplug #this2shallpass #AwarenessIsEverything
Getting to know myself, not words or stories that people provide to me, but learning, unlearn relearning for myself. These life lessons validates my spirit from what I experience. It is a continuous journey. I am not unique; we are all able to get to know ourselves well. There are myriads of ways to get that done. I am sharing my story because many other people shared their stories with me, and we keep on moving forward doing this life thing together. Still, we are more than what happened to us!
Beyond the Story: Letting Go Judgement of Others, Getting to “Know Yourself.”
Identifying how oppression in the form of emotional, physical, and sexual abuse, abandonment, poor education, poverty, bullying, classism, colorism, racism and sexism, hinders awareness and confidence. Looking at how support, basic human needs, access, and work has the potential that leads to taking risks to learn and move forward. Exploring how forgiveness removes the veil of shame that allows awareness to rise and connect to the joy from within. Relearning abundance not as material things but having gratitude, empathy, compassion, creativity, boundaries, and respect, allowing opportunities to receive and give back.
At the conclusion of this activity, people participating will have a glimpse to:
1. Explore practicing shame resilience, forgiveness, and awareness, to be present
Explore practicing shame resilience, forgiveness and awareness, to be present. How thoughts leads to emotions, reactions and behaviors.
Moving forward using, gratitude, support without judgment, empathy, compassion and personal responsibility instead of pain as motivation. How did you learn what you know? How do you move forward when behaviors no longer work to comfort you? Why does failing bring awareness and is a great teacher?
Using the power of language to shape our own story and take back autonomy, freedom, dignity and courage. Letting go judgment of others and getting to know yourself.
Humans are wired for connection, and it's a motivating feeling to know you are not alone! It was mad fun (slang for exciting) getting to meet so many people working and advocating in the world to drop the disorder to label human pain and suffering. I'm reminded now and then of this quote, "All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident." Schopenhauer
